The Future Stars Academy (FSA) is seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join us as Breakfast & Supper club Assistants. If you have a passion for working in the kitchen or catering, coupled with a desire to support young people and seniors in the local community, this is an opportunity for you. As a Breakfast & Supper club Assistant, you will gain valuable experience while earning a qualification in catering & hospitality.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated Breakfast & Supper club volunteers who want to gain experience as a kitchen or catering assistant whilst supporting young people and seniors in the local community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Kitchen and Catering Assistance:
    • Support kitchen and catering activities during Breakfast & Supper club sessions.
    • Assist in preparing and serving meals for young people and seniors in the local community.
  2. Communication and Engagement Skills:
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and engagement skills, fostering a friendly and welcoming environment.
    • Interact with young people and seniors, providing support and assistance as needed.
  3. Program Purpose:
    • Contribute to the FSA mission of providing meals to individuals and families during times of financial uncertainty.
    • Ensure that basic nutritional needs are met, promoting long-term health and well-being.

Typical Work Pattern:

  • Breakfast Club:
    • Morning: Monday to Friday, 7 am - 9 am.
  • Lunch Time Service & Deliveries:
    • Afternoon: Monday to Friday, 10 am - 4 pm.
  • Supper Club Times:
    • Evening: Monday to Friday, 5 pm - 7 pm & 7 pm - 9 pm.
  • Summer/Easter/Half-Term:
    • Morning: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 1 pm.
    • Afternoon: Monday to Friday, 2 pm - 4 pm.

Commitment:

  • Show commitment to an agreed-upon time period, attending the duration of designated projects unless in extenuating circumstances.
  • Uphold the FSA ethos of building a strong foundation among young people, the community, and teams through reliability and consistency.

Minimum Time Commitment Required:

  • 1 day per week.

Please Note: Regular volunteers are preferred. All volunteers working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults at the Future Stars Academy are subject to DBS checks.
