Musical Instrument Tutor

The Future Star Academy is seeking passionate musicians with a genuine interest in teaching to join our team as Musical Instrument Tutors. If you are a trained or qualified musician with professional-level expertise in playing a musical instrument, and you have a desire to coach students at all levels of learning, we invite you to be part of the development of our future stars.

As a Musical Instrument Tutor at FSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the training of FSA music students through the delivery of our musical instruments training program. We are currently seeking individuals for the following positions:

1. Piano Teachers:

  • Facilitate in-house training, local youth projects, and community workshops in piano skills, covering sight reading, ear training, scales, arpeggios, rhythm reading, and fast playing.
  • Knowledge of classical and contemporary music and/or current music styles (e.g., pop, hip hop, R&B).

2. Keyboard Tutors:

  • Facilitate in-house training, local youth projects, and community workshops in keyboard skills.
  • Knowledge of current music styles (e.g., pop, hip hop, R&B).

3. Guitar Tutors:

  • Passionate guitarists with a genuine interest in teaching and passing down knowledge and skills in playing the guitar at a high level.
  • Involvement in in-house training, local youth projects, and community workshops.

4. Drum Instructors:

  • Facilitate training in drumming skills, rhythm, and percussion techniques.
  • Engage in in-house training, local youth projects, and community workshops.

5. Additional Instrument Tutors:

  • We are open to applications from skilled musicians specializing in various instruments, such as bass, violin, saxophone, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach FSA students in playing their chosen musical instrument, adapting for different capabilities and ages.
  • Deliver training programs in a clear and quick pace.
  • Collaborate with the management team to handle programming, scheduling, and administrative needs.
  • Provide private one-to-one, group, or community sessions, either in person or at FSA teaching studios.

Requirements:

  • Trained or qualified in playing a musical instrument to a professional level.
  • Experience in a wide variety of music is preferred.
  • Teaching experience is favoured, but training will be provided to selected candidates.
  • DBS checked due to working with children (paid for by FSA).
  • Ability to teach an instrument at a clear but quick pace.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated.
  • Performance experience is desirable.

Salary/Payment: Hourly pay dependent on experience, paid weekly.
