Description

As a Director of Finance, you will advise the team on how best to transform the organisation's financial operations both internally and externally, as well as provide strategic advice, participate in evaluations, and oversee and overall monitoring of financial affairs and income contributing to the overall direction and leadership of The Future Stars Academy's Social Enterprise strategy and team.

The Future Stars Academy is open to receiving applications from experienced non-executives. and candidates for whom this would be their first Non-Executive role.

Requirements

Must have experience in:

  • Accountancy
  • Financial planning/budgeting
  • Financial processing and systems
  • Auditing
  • Understanding accounts and scrutiny of financial information

In addition, candidates should have:

  • Experience in developing and successfully delivering best practice HR strategies and plans, especially in relation to payroll management and staff finance.
  • Knowledge of the charitable/non-profit sector
  • Sufficient time availability for board duties.
  • Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and work in an empowering and supportive way so that colleagues and teammates are all part of the success that you lead.

Responsibilities

Board member responsibilities:
We are looking for a passionate and committed board member to join our organisation's governing body. You will be expected to bring an external, independent perspective to the Board, assist with strategy, help develop the business and ensure that the risks are suitably managed, whilst maintaining the integrity of the Board. You will be expected to challenge and advise, in line with our vision, mission, and values.

  • The term of the role is 3 years. However, positions are renewed, reconsidered, and re-recruited annually if necessary.
