As a Director of Fundraising, you will advise the team on how best to transform the organisation's financial operations both internally and externally, as well as provide strategic advice, participating in evaluations, and oversee and overall monitoring of financial affairs and income contributing to the overall direction and leadership of The Future Stars Academy's Social Enterprise strategy and team.

We are looking for people who are motivated, passionate and ambitious who want to work in an environment where they can make an impact, where a commercial approach supports the delivery of social value outcomes.

The Future Stars Academy is open to receiving applications from experienced non-executives. and candidates for whom this would be their first Non-Executive role.

Requirements

Must have experience in:

  • Accountancy
  • Financial planning/budgeting
  • Financial processing and systems
  • Auditing
  • Understanding accounts and scrutiny of financial information

In addition candidates should have:

  • Experience of developing and successfully delivering best practice HR strategy and plans especially in relation to payroll management and staff finance.
  • Knowledge of the charitable/nonprofit sector
  • Sufficient time availability for board duties.
  • Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and work in an empowering and supportive way so that colleagues and teammates are all part of the success that you lead.

Responsibilities

Board member responsibilities:
We are looking for a passionate and committed board member to join our organisation's governing body. You will be expected to bring an external, independent perspective to the Board, assist with strategy, help develop the business and ensure that the risks are suitably managed, whilst maintaining the integrity of the Board. You will be expected to challenge and advise, in line with our vision, mission and values.

The Director of Fundraising role includes:

  • Direct teams to deliver outstanding results collaboratively within set time frames to meet deadlines.
  • To connect the various fundraising functions of donations, sponsorship and fundraising events to make them more collaborative and run efficiently
  • Sharing skills and resources with other directors and team members
  • Finding opportunities to build on success and our core foundations
  • Adhoc plan development across the areas you oversee
  • Ensure your department is working collaboratively and effectively with other Directors across the organisation.
  • Representing our fundraising activities at the highest level, within the organisation, and externally.
  • Take overall accountability for delivering fundraising excellence,
  • Create industry-leading results within an exceptional team culture across your team focused on ‘mastery of craft, clarity of purpose and autonomous initiative.
  • Oversee three key Fundraising functions (Donations, Sponsorship, and Events) and preferably have strong and demonstrable knowledge of leading at least one of these functions to a very high standard.
  • Accountability for the day-to-day operational success of the organisation and its continued growth and development through innovation and collaboration at every level of the organisation.
  • As a role model you will ensure our values and expected standards of behaviour are embedded across the entire organisation, as well as in your own teams.
